| ODE TO A FRIEND | |||||||||
| Friendship is the meeting of two souls Entwined in a comfortable embrace; Not sensual by nature, but warm like family, In this cruel and unfriendly place. They Validate their own existence, They caress each other’s soul; They slay their dragons from a warm cocoon, In sadness they console. Friendship, Like a poem, Is the sweet breath of God As he sings In a loved one’s ear; A love song scored by a Master, But not always For the masses to hear. Eric L. Wattree |
